Will I be travelling with a reliable company?
Tours of California is simply an expansion of a reliable, prestigious tour company (SF Shuttle Tours) in San Franicsco since 2005. Our Tour Guides know the customer expectations and strive to meet all expectations. Concierges and many web-based travel websites think highly of SF Shuttle Tours and those that operate Tours of California!
Can I book this tour last-minute?
Yes you can. Do not let our deposit and pay-in-full options confuse you. You can certainly book this tour last-minute however, we do plan to sell out before than. Therefore, we do recommend that you book as soon as you know you want to go to get the departure date you really want. You can book online or by phone.
What is the difference between the two itineraries?
Nothing! They are exactly the same. One departs from San Francisco and the other departs from San Diego. The tour is exactly the same. No benefit to either. Some people find it easier/cheaper to fly into San Diego or San Francisco from their home cities. Some airlines have better deals/direct flights from certain home town cities. After booking your tour with us, let us help you with your flight arrangments to find you the best price!
Will I be travelling with people from other countries?
Yes, we find that touring with people from various countries only adds to the overall experience. Given that you will be with other travelers for 7 days you will likely meet a new friend for life. This is one of the reason why people choose group tours.
How many people are on tour with me?
We do not sell more than 40 seats, but most tours tend to be far less than 40.
How does the Guarranteed Departures work?
Some departure dates are not guarranteed. We offer the lowest priced 8 Day California Touraround so we generally do operate most tours that we plan out. However, some just don't sell enough seats to operate. To help us out, we ask that you put a deposit down ASAP to help create a guarranteed departure for the date requested. Once, the tour is guarranteed we will call you to get the remaining funds paid and make that date guarranteed. Some tour dates book up and sell out really fast, so please put a deposit down ASAP. You will get your deposit back if we do not operate the tour for some reason. See our schedule for up-to-the-minute information.
I am a Single Traveller, will I get my own room?
Yes, if you pay our Single Traveller rate then you will have your own room throughout the tour. If you wish for us to try to match you up with someone so you can pay the double occupancy rate, please call us 1-888-359-0535 prior to booking. Please note that all Single Travellers must call us for booking instead of using the online booking system.
Will I have time on my own?
Absolutely. There will be plenty of time at each stop for your own time. We do ask that you follow the exact directions from the Tour Guide as far as meeting up times.
Will the coach be modern and comfortable?
Absolutely. We strive to make the tour coach the most comfortable and modern possible. We know that you are going to be be in this bus for 7 days, so it has to be great.
What are the Tour Directors like?
All of our Tour Guides are based in San Francisco and operate city and related tours daily (see TripAdvisor comments from SF Shuttle Tours). They have tremendous practice with customer service and tour guiding skills. Only the best from San Francisco get the opportunity to work at Tours of California. Further, our Tour Guides have 5+ years experience operating over-the-road escorted tours.
Can you help me book my flights prior to booking?
Our booking flight service is an amazing offer that no other company offers. However, we do only offer this service for paid customers (with at least a deposit on file). We want you to have the best possible airfare to help minimize your costs for our tour.
Do I need to buy airline travel insurance?
On most departure dates we request that you buy the affordable airline travel insurance that is often offered.
Are the hotels air-conditioned?
Yes. Please see our California Tour itinerary for our great hotel selections we have for you.
Entrance Fees at these stops included?
Yes. All entrance fees except Disneyland are included in the price of the tour. However, all of the other entrance fees are included For instance, even the wine-tasting fees in Napa and Sonoma are included in the tour. The only time entrance fees would not be included is if you created your own itinerary during the free-time portions of each day.
When did you add Disneyland to the tour itinerary?
We listened to our April 9th tour customers and they were really wanting to go to Disneyland, so we decided to change hotels in LA to Anaheim and arrive at Disneyland at 5pm-ish after our LA city tour portion. This gives people with extra energy to keep going and check out Disneyland. Please note that since we just added it on (May 1) the entrance fees are not included in our current 2011 pricing, thus you will need to pay out-of-pocket if you're interested in going to the park. Park closes at midnight and the fireworks show is at 9pm daily.
What Disneyland hotel are we staying at?
We actually do not know. We know it's going to be close to the park (walking distance) but since we are just adding this mid-year 2011 we will not know where we will end up staying. There are a number of hotels we are still looking into, but most hotels in that area are good and family driven. Instead of hanging out in downtown LA at night, why not go to Disneyland instead? It makes sense so we throwing adding this.
Why should I book Tours of California over the other tour companies I found online?
Simply because Tours of California and our Tour Directors are based in Calfornia and guide tours everyday (as you are reading this) all over Northern California.
